Some might argue that with 7 wins in their last 10 games last season, Pearson engineered a terrific revival which perhaps provided the "Springboard" for their success this season. In the end they finished 14th, 6 pts clear of the team third from bottom. Edited by Willo (04 May 2016 11.02am) And yet still unemployed. "Waiting for the right offer" no doubt.

The other nauseating thing will be every pundit in the land and every 'bloke in the pub' using Leicester as an example. How many times will we hear 'look at Leicester' ? Let's get a law through parliament that every 100th person that says it gets a slap

Call me bitter, but I can't jump on the Leicester bandwagon. They are the worst team to win the Premier League without a doubt, alongside the worst performances from the usual top 4/5. Vardy has luckboxed his way through the season, you don't suddenly become a world class striker at 29. He's certainly rapid, but so was AJ. Was he a world class striker ? Everybody also seems to forget that Vardy is a nasty piece of work. Racist comments in a casino and a conviction for assault. There have been a lot of conspiracy theories about Leicester doping throughout the season and it obviously hasn't been proved. But you surely have to look at the lack of injuries, Vardy recovering from surgery within a week and Ranieri's reputation as a doper and ask some questions. They did not look particularly special at Selhurst, but they were running their socks off into stoppage time. If we had won the league under similar circumstances I'd be delighted, but as an onlooker I can't help but be cynical. They are not a good football team. Watching them this season has been dreadful, and they have smashed and grabbed their way to more wins than I believe they deserve. For me, Spurs were the much better side. And had Bournemouth won the league, I'd be rejoicing. But the ugly long ball hoofers from the Midlands ?! Obviously the Leicester fans have every right to be ecstatic, but why is everybody else brown nosing them ? The table does not lie of course, and they are the Champions, but they will be more insufferable than United for the foreseeable future. I'm putting £20 on them to get relegated next season. Very interested to see what other people think, and whether they can find happiness in Leicester's win. I will always hate them for Claridge !!
"Brighton are talking about how they're coming for us. And it's like, we've been waiting in the Premier League for you for ages." Wilfried Zaha, 2017. |
