Am I a Traitor to the Palace Cause?

So a week or two ago, following the defeat to W. Brom, I decided that relegation is something to be genuinely feared as a Palace fan. With that in mind, I decided to do something which I have never done before and which has weighed heavily upon me ever since...I popped to the local bookies and put £15 on us to be relegated at 25/1. My motivation I feel to be clean - I want to lose the money and I made that plainly clear to the bookmaker at the time - it is an insurance bet to offer a slight anesthetic to counter the pain of going down. But I don't know, perhaps it's something that a football fan should just never do. Is it sacrilegious? I've never done it before, should I never do it again?? My sincerest thanks in advance.

My Dad did the same; before and after the Leicester game in fact. Odds of 20 and 15 to one respectively, £20 a pop. Not sure if it is right or not - he too wants to lose the money and has been a fan since the 60s but if we DO get relegated, why not have a few hundred quid to soften the blow?

My mates did the same in the new year after sitting through 2 or 4 games when we didn't score. Think he stands to win around a grand from about £20. Again he wants to lose his money, but said we'll go in the lash if we do get relegated!

I did exactly the same at 25/1 as well, i only had a bluey on my paddy power app so it had to do, but I wouldve done more,palace have always let me down where betting's concerned so I thought sod it I'll go the other way!!

Don't worry about it. Whenever I bet against Palace I lose so I've had a bet on us to be relegated which will guarantee another season in the Prem. It's simple and no guilty conscience because I'm actually supporting Palace as well as William Hill !!!!!!
