What are fans thinking of Naismith now given Bamford return to Chelski and likely selling of Campbell & Gayle?

Will answer my own posting as Naismith is moving to Norwich City FC for £8m. Link:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35195533

Bad news for us- thought Gayle might go there for around the same, freeing up some much needed cash for Remy/Slimani/whoever.

I think a lot of us thought Gayle was going to move earlier on this season, but we fannied about a bit on that one. One minute he was going then he wasn't. So norwich have struck while the iron is hot and they might just get their man in Naismith. They can't wait for us to make up our minds they need points and a goal scorer, hang on don't we need a striker or two, maybe to get us just a few more goals. The early bird.................

If its true have to hand it to Norwich taking action to avoid the drop getting the business done as early as possible and exiting the window before it gets too hysterical (like from the second day!)

I was relieved when I saw this guy was not playing for the toffees on Monday as I have seen him a few times and he is composed intelligent and finishes well - just what we need?

Then why wasn't he playing on Monday and why does this bloke who "finishes well" only have a 1 in 5 record? Sounds like more of what we don't need.

First, he has often featured on the flanks for Everton, and he was often brought on as a sub. As such, his record is not bad. Whether he is what we need, is another matter. Decent player though.

Ah, the 'Wickham/Sunderland excuse'; I should have guessed

Its as perfectly valid as the old "1 in 5" stat lazily trotted out without any context.

For me I'm not too sure. I think he's been playing his best football these last 2 seasons and if he doesn't score is a fcuking pest closing down and getting involved. This could be what we need to keep the momentum going although I cant see where he'd play in our current squad...maybe in the 'hole' behind someone like Wickham?

A far better shout and gamble then Adef***ingbayor or Allgonelahore!

Still...looks like Norwich are after him

A little premature regarding Naismith going to Norwich.

Martinez has said he will be needed at Everton over the next two weeks and his situation looked at mid January.

Everton have five games in this period - League - FA Cup and League Cup semi finals.

An awful lot can happen in two weeks.
