Chelsea had a rocky start to their last season but it was nowhere near as poor as our finish. To suggest that they're 'no better off than us' is, I would suggest, stretching credibility way beyond the limit. It would be very hard to argue that we are superior to them in any of squad, training facilities, ground, attendance or income, which I don't think leaves much.

I think it's time to get over his chosing Chelsea rather than us; many, many players would. It's not like he strung us along in order to get a 'better' offer is it? If the Benteke deal falls through though, he's surely more deserving of our opprobrium?

I wouldn't necessarily choose Chelsea.

Lets look at facts.

Palace are now offering large sums of wages to players so theres that in mind, finance for your average joe would be the same/similar.

Would I beat Diego Costa and Loic Remy easily to a place up front?

Or will I beat Connor Wickham?

Id choose finance first then will I play.

Where Chelsea would win would be for youth players who get their heads turned easier and world class players like Ibrahimovic who believe they'll get in the first time straight away.
