Great place Whitstable - a couple of knock out restaurants in the town and the fabulous Sportsman just up the road.

I recall Ian Cox who was converted from a winger into a defender. Was a player who liked to play his way out of trouble even if he was the line man in defence. Read the game well and always seemed to get his toe in. Our former coach Stan Ternent signed him for Burnley and I think he was there at the same time as Paul Gascoigne and our former player Gareth Taylor. Andy Hessenthaler took him to Gillingham. I should imagine that Cox is in his 40s now. Edited by Willo (24 Nov 2015 2.01pm)

Remember him playing for Whytleleafe before he came to Palace. Never thought he'd make a league player least of all as a defender but he actually had a number of good games.
lo Selhurst silva felix, lo Selhurst cara nutrix, viget, vigeat, vigebit! Best team:- Jackson; Gilbert, Evans, Cannon, Sansom; Hughes, Kember, McNichol; Byrne, Holton, Wright. |

I recall Ian Cox who was converted from a winger into a defender. As I recall, he was a fairly average winger but developed into a quite nice, if not very top class, central defender. Edited by sydtheeagle (08 Jan 2016 1.57pm)
Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God. |
