I know we have beaten bigger clubs however this game really seemed to resonate with me. It’s as though the club had taken a giant step forward and looking at the players coming through at the time there seemed to be a huge sense of optimism for the future which seemed to echo my own life in my late teens at the time.

Wrexham 1977 4-2 is the most dramatic and exciting of the lot. Seen through the eyes of a 13 year old. Hence my monicker! Followed by: Liverpool 4-3
A new era of total football is on the way to Selhurst Park!! |

The humiliation of Scousepool at Villa Park. Still got the ticket stub too. The 9-0 massacre as well. Fear Watford?

Lots I guess but seeing... "Wrexham 2 Crystal Palace 4" on the evening news in 1977 has to be up there...followed by "Mansfield 1 Wrexham 0" on the Saturday....which meant we were up....and we haven't been at that level since.... Edited by The Sash (02 Feb 2016 3.36pm) I was there. As a 12 yr old Wrexham fan

My older brother and brother in law and all their mates were at the Wrexham game. It was Mansfield who beat Wrexham 1-0 in their final game (on the Saturday after we'd beaten them in midweek in our final game). Wrexham had to beat Mansfield - we were 1 point ahead of Wrexham and our 4-2 win had just given us a superior goal difference - we were THREE goals inferior to them prior to our two goal victory). Mansfield had already been promoted as champions, the seaweed finished second.
