I remember as a kid bucking up the courage to knock on his door for his autograph. He used to live on Bromley common down the road next to the bus garage.Nice bloke. I saw him play for California Surf in '78 while on a school exchange trip. Couldn't believe I had traveled all the way to California and watched an Ex-Palace player. I also seem to remember Phil Holder playing for the opposition.
