This kind of typical. Using one factor to dismiss another. Then the classic reference to foreign staff that are here because of lack of investment for the training and pay of British workers. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (04 Jan 2018 1.47pm) I don't think your analysis undermines my point. The NHS is at present (which is what we were all talking about) the opposite of being in crisis because of immigrants full stop IMHO. I appreciate you are of the view immigrants coming here are to blame and I recognise I will never persuade you otherwise. Edited by legaleagle (04 Jan 2018 4.59pm)

That means an increasing number of people for the NHS to treat for several lifetimes. It is a simple unbiased reality.

Doctors vote not to charge overseas patients as this is racist. How very noble of them, how very self sacrificing, how very generous of them, spending other people money that is. Doctors sometimes have a reputation for arrogance perhaps that is unjust but this idiotic decision doesn't help that cliche. Just heard someone from the NHS Action party on the radio painting an unbelievable picture of NHS staff roaming the corridors of the hospital looking to throw out Windrush patients (I kid you not), this woman made her point badly. I went to Moorfields last year I was asked for Id and my NHS number it took a moment and then I was in the queue. Oh and the person who did this wasn't a doctor. I remember watching a documentary on TV a few months ago where half a dozen ex health ministers both Labour and Conservative were interviewed together and discussed their experiences in the job. All of them agreed that the biggest problem with trying to streamline the NHS and make it more efficient was the doctors themselves as they would fight against any change whatsoever no matter what it was. Perhaps it might concentrate their minds if the Government reduced their grants by the estimated amount of health tourist income the doctors are waiving

To be clear the NHS will treat emergencies which is what Nick Ferrari challenged the leftie doctor on who gave the impression that that was not the case, eventually she had to admit that was true. The main offenders are people from countries that require a visa to come to the UK. So I do not understand why we don't include health insurance in that process. I recently went to Russia and had to provide my NHS number and private insurance details so they had thought that one through.

If this is implemented, I would imaging that the increased costs for HIV/Aids treatment & medication and the use of maternity services by those from the African continent alone would be enough to sink the NHS without trace.

Lets imagine a fella living in Western Strabane, Northern Ireland. He is working and paying his taxes to the Republic of Ireland. Then he gets sick, hobbles 300 yards East and gets free NHS treatment in the UK. Nothing to do with race, but the whole thing stinks of financial impropriety. Multiply it across the whole EU and we have madness en masse.

He treated a white British citizen who had not lived in the UK for decades and was not entitled to free healthcare because he hadn't paid in. So yes you are correct it's not just about people who don't have blond hair and blue eyes abusing the system.
