My mate has a ST at Blackburn and says he's crap.

Well if your mate says hes crap he must be crap!

He said Dann was an absolute steal at the time we signed him. I would've thought people would be interested in the opinion of someone that watches him every other week. Sorry for piping up. Prick.

Tough one, this. Bolassie was said to be pony by the Bristol City fans, I seem to recall. However, I think I'd love to have a player that the selling club's fans are really gutted to lose. And, yeah, it's useful to get the views of people that watch these players week in and week out, so thanks.

I take other clubs fans opinion of players with a pinch of salt tbh...I am still reeling that someone on here with all seriousness said Puncheon is 'rubbish' on the Saturday match thread....imbecilic and a perfect example of how the vast majority of people who watch football don't really understand what they are looking at

Get the f*** out of here, really, did someone really say Punch was rubbish ?

It baffles me why some people pay money, good money in fact, to watch a game they have absolutley not one f***ing igloo as to how it works

I watched the extended highlights on Saturday and punch looked our best player.

my nephew was at the match and he also said punch was very good indeed.

It's funny though, if we paired Dann and hanley, we have essentially recreated Blackburns championship central defence, with which they battled relegation. I'm not protesting the signing but it seems odd. I know there are dozens of reasons why they might work differently but still.

Ah that doesn't mean anything. In 2009/10 we escaped relegation on the final day of the season and had Nat Clyne, Clint Hill and Jose Fonte in our defence!

Jose Fonte was sold on 09-01-2010, with him in defence we only lost 7 of 24 league matches and we already had 37 pts, after he left we won just 6 more games picking up only 24pts from 22 games, so Fonte made a huge difference to our defence.

That whole 'Puncheon is rubbish' comment was, of course, ridiculous but it is all opinions, I guess. (Some slightly harder to digest than others). For example, I have a really good feeling about Sako and reckon he will prove to be a superb signing so hopefully, if we get Hanley, Pardew will have got another diamond in through the door.

According to Bet Victor we are 6/4 favourite to sign this guy now......good news I would say.

I like Delaney and I still think he has a big role to play at Palace, but a Younger more nimble CB may not have scored that OG on Sat. It might not have made a difference on Sat but sometimes something as minor as being able to move a leg an inch further out of the way can mean a point or even 3.

Not knocking Delaney though, he plays his heart out every game, and obviously already has a goal, but I think a younger CB will give us that extra edge in those little scrambles in the box that make me soil myself.

Hanley could become another international quality CB with Dann, Delaney and Hangeland as role models

A good 'CV' and has already played extensively with Dann. Should at least represent additional cover

After Dann left for Crystal Palace in January 2014, Hanley was appointed as the new captain of the club. Manager Gary Bowyer said, "We spoke the other day about it, a lot of people think he'll be a future captain of Scotland and we see him being the captain here. He has took to the job well second time around and I'm delighted for the captain that he has scored his first goal of the season."

Sounds a strong influential player, and would settle with already knowing Dann. How much are we talking for him ?
