I need a rant as I have great fears for the future wellbeing of our nation under a Tory administration.

Firstly,I am not surprised at the result and when a friend asked me a few days ago what I thought would happen I said I felt Tories would win.Infact I thought they would have a larger majority. My thinking was based on what I saw as a lacklustre campaign by Labour with unclear and ambiguous policies.
Secondly,
Labour failed to argue that there is an alternative to austerity and the continued dismantalisation of public services. They never addressed the arguments about the previous Labour govt's overspend and how the Tories never argued in opposition to those policies which were essentially of a global nature with the core of the problems based in the USA where billions of dollars were loaned by banks to companies and individuals in the knowledge that the credit would not be repaid and would lead to economic malaise.
Thirdly, Previous labour governments 'New Tory' economic policys allowed unregulated spending with low taxation of those in the higher income brackets whilst making cuts to essential public services. The Milliband Party did not address this and for many, confused the issue of difference between Labour and Tory as was so often voiced by the electorate. In fact to my knowledge the only time Milliband had the courage to talk out was when interviewed by Russell Brand on his youtube channel.
Fourthly..
This is a golden opportunity for the Labour party to break away from the disastrous Blairite,(new Tory) policies that have led to this situation, and elect someone as Leader who is not prepared to invite moderate Tories to come over to Labour as Milliband did, and will pursue policies which taxes those higher income individuals, many of whom pay less tax percentage wise than the workers who sweep the streets, work in hospitals and teach our kids.
Fifth..
Labour has no clear ideological overall policy regarding what we need in life, what kind of world do we want to live in,what is really important to make us feel safe,eg health, relationships, environment and creativity.

Labour lost its way with Kinnock, Smith and Blair essentially turned it into a party that no longer represented its members and voters, but essentially saw its core base as something to betray in order to secure election victories.

Their failure to deal with the rise of the SNP in Scotland has essentially doomed them as a British Party and barring a disaster by the conservatives, left them unable to realistically expect to win a majority government.

Could you not have put this on one of the numerous other election threads?

Ed Miliband was unelectable. It was clear the second he became leader.

Crazy decision to replace Brown with someone with an even worse aura.

Blair would never have got elected if he hadn't attracted the centre right. He knew that and was clever about it.

Cameron is the same.

Labour are not dead but won't be in power for at least 9 years now unless someone very, very charismatic replaces Ed soon as.
