I need a rant as I have great fears for the future wellbeing of our nation under a Tory administration. Firstly,I am not surprised at the result and when a friend asked me a few days ago what I thought would happen I said I felt Tories would win.Infact I thought they would have a larger majority. My thinking was based on what I saw as a lacklustre campaign by Labour with unclear and ambiguous policies. Labour lost its way with Kinnock, Smith and Blair essentially turned it into a party that no longer represented its members and voters, but essentially saw its core base as something to betray in order to secure election victories. Their failure to deal with the rise of the SNP in Scotland has essentially doomed them as a British Party and barring a disaster by the conservatives, left them unable to realistically expect to win a majority government.

Could you not have put this on one of the numerous other election threads?

Ed Miliband was unelectable. It was clear the second he became leader. Crazy decision to replace Brown with someone with an even worse aura. Blair would never have got elected if he hadn't attracted the centre right. He knew that and was clever about it. Cameron is the same. Labour are not dead but won't be in power for at least 9 years now unless someone very, very charismatic replaces Ed soon as.
