Charities
A note on charitable contributions

Many schools, friends, ex-students and parents, former TBS staff and current families have asked about how they might contribute to relief and aid for the people of Nepal.

There are many charities who will provide immediate help. What we would like to do is to continue to work with our current charities because we can be assured that money pledged to our care will result in every single penny being spent on projects that TBS children and students can help them with and see develop over time. We will be directing our efforts to helping school rebuilding projects for our Dhading schools, Bungamati DSA school (hearing and sight impaired children) and the Disabled New Life centre.

The buildings have been devastated and they served large communities of people who needed them desperately [Link]

These projects will benefit children, are related to education, and we know they will give long term benefit to the children and people of Nepal.

If you would like to contribute to our school charities you can liaise with the staff at our Finance office and for those outside Nepal they can transfer any contributions to the TBS UK account writing ‘TBS Charities’ as the reference.
The British School Kathmandu, A/C Number: 1010938710,
IBAN number – GB43SCBL60919910938710, Sort code: 60-91-99
ABA Swift number code: SCBLJESH, Standard Chartered Bank (Jersey) Limited, 15 Castle Street, St. Helier, Jersey, JE4 8PT, Channel Islands.

We will make sure every penny is spent on our charity projects, staff will donate their time voluntarily to administrate these charitable efforts and students will be leading on liaising with the schools and organising the rebuilding process. (All monies will be fully accounted for and available for presentation to those who contribute on an ongoing basis).

Anyone who wishes to see the progress of our TBS Charity projects will recieve a regular update if they email charities@tbs.edu.np .

Not suggesting that this appeal is not legit but would urge those that want to support things like this do it through those that are registered with the charity commission with a registered charity number.
Millions are syphoned off each year by fraudsters taking advantage of peoples goodwill and others suffering.
