Nope. We should just eat seasonal, regional and sustainable.

This is obviously the correct answer.

The problem is that we have forgotten what is seasonal as everything is in the supermarkets all year round. We rarely get a choice about regional, unless we are willing to shop around to find it. Sustainable is the key but that restricts the choice that we have become used to.

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall writes very well about this subject.

He does, and his fish fight made remarkable changes to EU catch quota and the dumping of perfectly good fish.

If the choices were restricted I bet we'd all still choose to eat. Think of a restaurant when it has set menu as oppose to a la carte.

Optimistic as ever

Being top of the food chain should be celebrated not frowned upon.

An animal wouldn't think twice about eating us

Humans aren't top of the food chain per se, well at least for around 2000 or so poor sods world wide each year (Crocodiles account for half of those).

In addition snakes account for about 10,000 deaths worldwide, scorpions 4-5000 whilst the Mozzy probably kills between half a million or so.

Talking of which Jamie, there must be a almost endless supply of Insects to eat which we in the West don't partake in. I tried some when I was at a market in Texas a few years back....
