Anyone got Any suggestions for a good news site?

I used to use the bbc site but it's now morphed from news/journalism to video/magazine - and I hate it.

The guardian was good (and I'm not a 'guardian reader')but even that has had a bbc-style makeover.

When the time comes, I want die just like my Dad - at peace and asleep.
Not screaming and terrified.
Like his passengers.

I know what you mean.

But the alternative is glossy lifestyles and right wing propaganda, particularly about the baby eating communist who was photographed with the father of a potential terrorist so he's practically ISIS Ed Milliband, Daily Mail

or

the exceptionally glossy lifestyle and right wing propaganda spouting, particularly about the way big business Tory Party donors amazingly support the Tory pary, complimented by reviews about AGAs and skiing holidays Daily Telegraph

the fact is freedom of press is a laugh because the majority of the press are owned by rich people who want to tell the news as they see it or rather they want working people to see it.

If there is a decent balanced news program out there I love to hear about it.

I fail to see why anybody would want an external news website when General Talk provides all the 'dead' and '...is for benders' updates that anybody can need.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...
