These cnuts have turned up and taken over. We've been fighting against this for years and nobody was interested until the bulldozers were due to remove trees. Now, when all legal avenues have been exhausted Swampy and his mates have perched in the trees, built a camp and fire and play fcuking bongos all night! Where were they to help us when it mattered? Most are there for class war style aggro and somewhere to hang out for a few weeks. Bristol Council and the Mayor are hypocritical arseholes... they're celebrating getting the award of Green capital of Europe recently, but now tearing up prime agricultural land and woodland to build a metro link. There were loads of better sites suggested that would meet their criteria and not ruin wildlife habitats and destroy people's livings - the land is not just for allotments but several smallholdings producing farm food for locals for decades. The local BBC/ITV and radio stations weren't interested either, only the local paper (Bristol Evening Post) carried our story and fight against the council. Now all of them can't get enough of it.

Different strokes for different folks. I wouldn't want Swampy and co presenting petitions in court, challenging in council or trying to get the local conservative party members to back my campaign. When it comes to having 'bodies' on the ground, in front of a bulldozer, you want people who aren't too concerned about getting a criminal record.

So are you for them or against them? They seem to taking direct action to increase the profile of your cause. If you have a problem... if no one else can help... and if you can find them... maybe you can hire... The A-Team.

For the record.... I'm against them. We lost the fight in the courts and all that Swampy and his mates are doing is too little, too late. Bristol Council wouldn't listen to alternative sites and bullied this development through. Hundreds of police will turn up, there will be a big fight and then the bulldozers will get on with it sadly. So all they are doing is ramping up the cost of the development as the police presence will cost money. As I said earlier... their presence here is to do with their own anti-establishment agenda.
