Could be worse, you could be sending all your money to their homes, whilst they're in the boozer.

Pubs are dying out, the demand just isn't what it used to be and the alternatives are better placed.

Also, it kind of seems to me that pubs in and around communities tend to get shut down for being popular, the Portmannor springs to mind. For years hardly anyone went in there, a smattering of folks before and after games.

Then the Fanatics start using it, and it becomes the pub to go to, rather than the Albion, and boosh its shut down.

This tends to be the rule outside of football - because when pubs become popular, the tend to be a bit loud around 11-12 O'clock, then the grumpies all complain about the noise, riff raff and drunk people and it loses its licence, notably when the local MP weighs in around election time to put pressure on the police and licensing committee.

Then the same people complain about the closure of pubs.

Dozens of things to blame. NIMBYists are the worst. People move into an area and piss and moan about something which was there long before them, be it a football club or a takeaway. Pubs get it the worst. My friend told me the Black Sheep was closed down by local residents in Croydon and I said "what residents!?!" He told me that new flats had been built.
