I just don't remember Lucas at all.

Charlton reject. Same as Shovel Sewell and Don Townsend (Andy's dad).

Hoof Hearted 02 Dec 14 11.33am

I started going to SP in 1963 as a 9 year old.

I don't remember that situation, but I suppose there might be a chance I am behind the players somewhere with my older brother.

Seeing Bill Glazier there reminds me of when he left to join Coventry although he was reluctant to move at that time.
Shortly after joining Coventry I met him in a pub in Thornton Heath when he came back to meet some friends for a drink.
He reckoned that Ronnie Allen had said to Manager Dick Graham, himself a goal keeper, that John Jackson was a better keeper than Bill.
He said it caused him a lot of grief at the time so he moved on.

........................Then along came Johnny Byrne! and the rest, as they say, is history.....................

Loved Bill Glazier. Am I right in thinking he was the most expensive goalkeeper when sold?

Yes £35k.
He was my favourite player at that time.
Was sold to Coventry, then we played them
