Pellegrini's insistence on training at stadium

this is insipired. To reinforce how the home team feels 'at home' in their stadium. Pellegrini insists on at least one training session in the home ground - every week.

of course the groundsmen dont like it. But they can mow the line.

so, do we regularly leave Beckenham and practice at Selhurst ? it seems wise to have our players much more familiar with the territory than any other team.

Every team already has more knowledge of their own patch than the opposition because that's where they already play regularly. Why practise away from the site of special training facilities, physio clinics and large open areas to do goal mouth preparation? The home ground needs to remain 'precious' and a special, revered place to play and a place of fear and reverence for the opposition.

i think its all about 'calibrating the accuracy of long passes' as well as the respective camber, soil, grass etc.

this is not snooker where every table must be identical.

Yeah he likes to train the session before a home game so the squad are accustomed to the pitch conditions.

A good idea if you ask me and from what I gather from Pulis' training a lot of it is just getting on with it and playing football.
