Not bad Becky. There's just one problem of a universal wage structure. It took years of hard fighting by players to stop the maximum wage, when Jimmy Hill spoke up for the PFA.
My bro was a Palace trainee but suited men from Chelski visited Mum and Dad with offers of more than money. So money isn't the one thing here, I don't think. It's a tricky one, but the real answer is a changing of attitude, the spirit of the law being upheld by the big clubs. Some hope. Sorry

I don't disagree with the OP - it will be bad for us.

Out of interest is it the top ten teams of this year or next year (or some other time)?

We could be a top ten team next season based on our performance under TP - would it still be a bad thing if we could have a lower league B team? Maybe the petition should be against it being just the top 10 so we are included in the teams who get to enter a side?

If it helps to push English players at international level, The EPPP has killed academy football at lower league level. Category 1 academy's have the pick of young players, if playing in new league helps younger English players to succeed in the game I'm all for it.

So there's a proposed reshuffle of the leagues that has been operating for over 100 years without any problems just so we can get 11 younger players to play better for England! We England fans just have to accept that our level is where we are. Petition signed. Ollie's Dad,Ash.

while I agree something needs to be done, this is completely the wrong solution.

The entire commission was built around trying to drive development of 18-21 year olds, however, by that time, it's too late. We need better recruiting and instruction at much earlier levels.

We need better youth coaches who are comfortable with the wide open style that many of the top teams are playing and we need to put serious effort behind our national youth team, outside of the academy system.

The reality of the B team structure is that it could already exist via loans to championship or league 1 clubs, but the loans are not nearly as plentiful as they should be

The main issue isn't to do with quantity of British players, we don't need more coming through, just better.

The majority of the league was English at the inception of the Premier League, and we still missed out on USA 1994. The coaching methods from young have to change, and the cost of a course has to be the concern

The main problem with players progressing is that everyone gets so excited at the chance of owning England's next big thing that their value is extortionate. Therefore, only a small number of clubs can buy them and this halts their natural progression because those that can afford them, won't play them.

Unless the club naturally progresses with them e.g. Lallana, you'll continue to see Zaha sold for £15m and Ince quoted at £25m, despite having never graced the Premier League, and Andy Carroll sold for £35m.

When players are allowed to move on at a reasonable value (Baines for £6m, Sturridge for £12m, Lampard for £11m) they often become better players. This habit of trying to accelerate player's development by paying stupid sums for 20 year olds is killing the national team.
