According to what Pulis has said things at The Palace were in pretty dire shape when he came in to do a rescue act at Selhurst. Above all else it appears there was a decided resignation at The Club that we were for the drop and the overall attitude was very depressed. It would seem that in a relatively short period of time Ollie let things get badly out of hand and I now wonder when he actually lost the dressing room. May be it was earlier than we all thought!. So apart from having to put some belief into the players he also had to get all and sundry on the right page so as to raise their chins and soldier on. I would not have believed that Parish et al went down the depression track although it could be Ollie really screwed up in a big way and contaminated just about everything there was to screw up.In resume ,I don't think many of us realize how grim the situation really was so we certainly do owe Pulis a bundle because the task he faced must have been almost overwhelming and I do not believe many managers would ever have taken the job on leave alone overcoming the situation.Well done Tony, may you live long and be real happy!.

Pulis and Holloway are chalk and cheese - i wouldn't be at all suprised if Holloway was negative just to give himself some space - when he took over, he said pretty much (and i'm para phrasing - that the last bloke 'freedman' only managed 17th, so anything else is a bonus. This to me automatically sets up mid table finish as acceptable.

We had a poor run of games and he came out with - and again i para phrae 'i need to lift a group of players in there' well, my feeling was, we were in the play off spot, sure we had a bad run, but why should the players be low on moral/enthusiasm?

We won the play offs, got into the prem - he said he will not change what got us up - so what does he do? buy who ever signed quickest - he then came out with BC comment about having to get them to gel, believe his methods etc - surely after being at the club since before xmas and not 'tinkering' too much, that shouldn't be as issue?!?!

I'm sorry but i never liked Holloway - he never suited us and the speech he gave slating 'the bloke before him' was just down right disrespectful - regardless of what went on before. The down playing of rivalries, he basically said what he wanted to say then tried to back track, he signed who he wanted then back tracked and in all honesty, i believe he was sacked with it made to look like a joint decision.

He was sacked saying he wasn't up to the challenge - Pulis said he likes a challenge - this pretty much sums it up.
Good riddence.
