Yeah but don't forget in Webb's case we are dealing with a referee who over-ruled his own decision to give us a penalty by awarding them a free kick, when clearly no CPFC player was anywhere near the ball at the time it came off their player and went out for a corner (if there was no penalty)

It came off their player's chest and was picked up by their 'keeper. The ball didn't go out. It was not a goal kick, admittedly, but that mistake, and awarding a penalty kick in the first place, were the only poor decisions on that occasion.

Then agin, that's two poor decisions in less than a minute

I figure that he just gave possession of the ball back to Villa, rather than a drop ball, in which we'd give the ball back to Villa. I think he was right, he stopped play, verified with the linesman, and then returned possession to villa (admitedly not via a drop kick).

His decisions that day were pretty much spot on. The Bolaise one, I think it was probably a foul after watching the slow motion repeat three or four times. The contact seems very minimal, and its perfect understandable why he saw Bolaise just losing his footing.

The Jedi incident, he couldn't have seen it, and it was something over nothing anyhow, they ran into each other, and then the keeper seemed to kick out. Certainly Jedi impeeded him (by crossing his path in possession of the ball).

Webb's a good referee.

How many perfect ref's have their been in the history of the game?

1. Collina.

Wasn't perfect at all, he was bl00dy good though.

Missing the point.

I was behind the goal when Duncan Ferguson's goal for Everton was disallowed by Collina in the 2nd leg vs Villa Real. If anything he was being held down when jumping for the header but noone is allowed to be tall enough like Ferguson to win a header that high so it was disallowed. The scallies and Millwall of the North West went mental. I think they would've gone through if that had stood. Villa Real scored after that & everton had no choice but to bomb forward but conceded again.

Back on topic. Webb bottles it a lot and got the WC Final because of England being cr&p and the Premier League reputation. He was out of his depth and the players took the p1ss. Big decisions he bottles too often. The Oxlade-Chamberlaine batton ram & charge on Suarez in the box by the away fans at The Emirates was a joke, and I can't stand Liverpool and don't want them winning the title because of 1 player and no Champs League fixtures.
