Jason Puncheon has no doubt been our best player this season. At times he hasn't had the full praise he deserves!

He is a fundamental reason we are staying up. I read a column today which is spot on. And wasn't overlooked by the Liverpool win etc.. et me know what you think:

Since his penalty miss agains Spurs he's pulled his socks up and played very well, but our player of the year is most definitely Speroni followed closely by Jedinak.

And I see signs of half remembered days, I hear bells that chime in strange familiar ways

Agree with your comments re Puncheon.

This is a complete aside but I disagree with both of your candidates, for me it would be between Delaney and Ward.

What about Joel Ward!
Played in three different positions and gets little recognition for his consistency!

Or Damien Delaney - at the heart of one of the meanest defences in the division?

Puncheon has scored key goals and on his day has been outstanding, but, player of the year? Not for me!

Ward is player of the season for me.

And then very hard to pick between Speroni and Delaney.

Although Jedi is absolutely vital to us, his distibution remains absolutely shocking and has been the cause of a few goals we've conceded.

Punch has been fantastic a lot of the time and also won us a fair few points, but has also been anonymous in a lot of games.

And if he (Puncheon) got his head up occasionally might see other players are in a better position for goalscoring chances.

Agree, but I think he scored a couple of very important goals before then.

sheer to the fact that he scores goals makes him one of our most important players

Will we have a Puncheon for England thread before the season is out. As for best player this season, I would put, Ward,Delaney,Speroni,Gabbidon,Jedi,Chamach as standout performers this season Dann and Ledley have been great since coming in and not a lot between the rest.

Quite, but he's been very good for us, and dangerously consistant for him. Should have squared the ball when he hit the post maybe, but he's easily been one of our best players this season. Palace fan as a boy, he's certainly made up for that Millwall hatrick!

I don't think you can really single out a best player this year, the first XI have been massive since Pulis came in.

Its hard to think that Delanny was thinking of quitting football when he came to us.

If I had to pick one, it would be Jedinek, as someone shouted from behind me, 'You're a Beast Jedinek' after winning yet another aerial challange.

But really it would be wrong to award anyone with Player of the Season this season.
