So many...losing 4-1 at home to Notts County on opening day of season having just been relegated. Sorry can't remember the year.

1973/74. First game of the season, I think, Yes, what a bloody let-down that was, having just come from the 1st Division. I had an idea Ian Lawson scored our goal, but he was with us in the mid-sixties (for not very long).

It probably says it all about being a Palace fan that listing my horrible moments takes up a lot more space than listing the great ones.

In no particular order the stand-out ones are:

* Being beaten by Saints in the 1975-76 FA Cup Semi
* Relegation 1992-1993 from a "safe" position
* Relegation 2004-2005 at Charlton
* Any of those games around 1984 when our gates were
down to 5000
* FA Cup Final replay 1990
* Weeds 3 Palace 0 Boxing Day 1979

I'll stop there

My most painful moment wasn't related to the game.

We were playing Watford a few years back (I think we did get tonked actually) and they were singing a song to the exact tune of the Andy Johnson song. I started clapping and stamping along with it before I realised it wasn't the Palace fans singing and a few people were looking at me like I was a total tool.

It was painfully embarrassing, does that count?

I remember going absolutely mental once, can`t remember where now, only to realise the "goal" I was celebrating had been disallowed.
My mate, dead pan faced, looked at me and said " I was thinking, just then, he isn`t going to like this".
Very embarrassing.

Is this a five minute argument, or the full half hour? [Link]

Perfect! It was also against Watford where I was chanting "EEEEEAGLES" only to realise it was the Watford fans cheering Chris Eagles onto the pitch.

Also, not a Palace one, but I was at a non-league game stood up (on my own) giving absolute hell to the ref for blowing the whistle only to realise he'd given the team I was supporting (and wearing the replica shirt for) a free-kick and seconds later sent the opposition player off. But that's a digression!
