Good points EastEnd. You may have persuaded me! (is this a first for HOL?!) Spoke to a Sunderland fan at work about West Ham's 2nd goal when their CB vaguely waved a foot at the ball as it flew past towards the goal, does anyone think DD wouldn't have flung his body in the way of that shot? Of course he would, as would any Palace defender. We agreed, that's why they are going down - not enough players willing to put their body on the line. Damo, Dann, Jedinak, Ledley and Bolasie all strike me as players who would rather be broken in half then have their pride hurt by wincing out of a challenge. Ward does not need to however because his positioning and marking skills are at the quality of a CB and the way he carries the ball and distributes is like a full back or CM. Hence his versatility. Great post, the best I've read for some time. And it's Eastender.........
