Aintree said it all, Sunderland did dominate but didn't actually do the business against what Catty says is the weakest team in the league. Cannot argue with that as he wants to do.

Thanks for our team talk Lee,we took four points off the black cats,
hope TP puts he's comments on our dressing room wall tomorrow.

I hope Mr Cattermole kept his words sweet, he's going to be eating them when May comes around. 2 of Sunderland's 3 games in hand are Man City and Liverpool. Cue foot in mouth....

"Look at that. Accident blackspot? These aren't accidents! They're throwing themselves into the road gladly! Throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness!"

... and ...

“If you look at the game we had against Crystal Palace at the weekend, there was only one team in it, one team who dominated the whole game and did everything but put the ball in the back of the net.

“And if we go down this season and Palace don’t, there’s something very wrong here.

First Para - Spot On

Second Para - Utter bollocks - what will be wrong Lee is that you and your teammates simply arent good enough or put in the required effort

They had more of the ball admittedly, but they certainly weren't the "only team in it" (see KG chance), and to say they did everything but score is grossly exaggerating, they created very little.

There's a big difference between 'dominating' a game, and having more possession. Sunderland achieved the latter.

I'd have to disagree - we didnt really offer anything going forward whereas they did try to create and Borini, but for a couple of inches lower on two occassions, plus Altidore being awful could have had three

They had 3 half chances, I certainly wouldn't consider that 'doing everything but score'.

Sunderlands problem stems from poyet, his tactically inept, when you can be out thought by a manager like Holloway in a play off semi fina you know you've got problems.

If I was TP, i'd put up all the negative articles that have been written about us over the season and stick them up on the dressing room wall.. Question is, which game does he pick to do this?!

All TP has to do is look at Holmesdale.net Message Board. He will find enough negative items about us to stretch across the remaining games.

What would be wrong is that players on £40,000 a week can't do better than a side which, for a few games this season, had cost less than £4m to assemble:

Speroni

Ward Gabbidon Delaney Moxey

Jedinak KG

Bolasie Chamakh Bannan

Jerome

If Sunderland go down, they should be ashamed of their efforts. Well, they should be anyway.

Just as I suspect Palace would be mid table if TP was the manager at the start of the season, I suspect that Sunderland would be mid table if they had Poyet from the start of the season.

I don't like him but so long as Palace stay up, I'm happy for Sunderland to stay up as well as it must really irritate Brighton fans who slated him when he was sacked.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Personally, I think Poyet is a good manager

I fully expect Sunderland to stay up and as long as we put the last couple of games behind us, I don't think we'll be many points either side of Sunderland when the season finishes. I think it'd be extremely surprising if 3 teams out of West Brom, Norwich, Cardiff and Fulham didn't go down, so whilst he is chattering on about the notion of Palace staying up at Sunderland's expense, I think both teams could feel hard done by to go down at the expense of any of the four teams I have listed above.

And re: Poyet, I detest him, but he's clearly not completely inept. Whatever my thoughts are on him, I have to admit he's not even close to being the worst Premiership manager this season. I'd love to see him jumping up and down after being relegated but that's nothing against Sunderland and I'd personally be surprised if he was relegated this year.
