I see we come in for a slagging as we only make available 40% of the disabled spaces that we are supposed to.

We get a particular knocking for the away fans, the bloke in this article being an Arse fan. His problem was all the other Arse supporters chose to stand up, well there's a surprise.

So how do we feel about this? Do we fill up our spaces and have a queue of people that can't get tickets in this area? What can a club with an old stadium, which potentially doesn't have enough space for its demand and certainly doesn't in the away end, do?

Anybody on here in a wheelchair? This seems mostly an issue for wheelchair-bound people. Don't actually know what we do for e.g. blind people.

For starters, hows about the club make a very vocal statement about being made to build a studio that hasn't even been opened at the corner of the holmesdale? The seat in there hasnt even moved ALL season so they cant say that its a requirement?

Something needs to be done but I can't really imagine what can be done until we start to upgrade the stadium.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

In a couple of weeks time, when we start scoring goals 'for fun', no doubt the telly guys will be falling over themselves to come and use our superb state of the art facilities.

I'm a disabled fan that sits in the Arthur , the one main problem I have is when people stand up in front of me I can then not see what's happening . Last season was ok as I could look a the big screen but with the new TV gantry I can't see it any more . The problem the club have it's an old stadium so they are limited to what can been done.

Interesting point Chris. I see the view the Arse fan had was probably too high up to get to see the screen.

I wonder if the club should look at repeater screens in the disabled areas, what do you think? The HOL could do a good deed and write to the club as a group (now wouldn't that be novel, speaking with one voice).

Look at the list...all the top clubs have brand new stadiums.

All the clubs at the bottom have old ones.

Whilst I try to understand the point of the article, it's a bit harsh on clubs where their hands my be tied to a degree in terms of providing adequate facilities. Are they expected to rip out say 50 seats to accomodate 5 peole for example?

Front row, pitchside has got to be the best place for fans with wheelchairs hasn't it? In via the gate between the Main Stand and Whitehorse Lane end.

I've never understood putting people who can't stand up behind those who will.

Optimistic as ever

Screens put up attached to the TV gantry would be a good idea if this was possible .

Sadly the money that the club has earned from the Premier League means that they are effectively their fall guys and have to do what they say. There was no real choice in the studio, and making a statement wouldn't look good at all with the powers that be.

The club certainly needs to look at doing something for their disabled supporters though, as currently IMO it's unacceptable.
