For my part the football is horrendous and I know it won't change next season.

The football has been horrendous for years other than that run we had before Xmas in the championship ,
Even under Dougie we were awful to watch and rarely attacked including the Cardiff Semi final year.

I would argue the football was far worse under Freedman. For me the last time we played attractive free flowing attacking football that had an end product was under Steve Bruce! That was over 12 years ago.

I know we've been a long ball team for years and it's nothing I'm proud of. The semi final against Cardiff where we just decided to park the bus was an embarrassment, but apart from the brief spell under Dougie at least we tried to win games. I'm not asking for us to play like Arsenal, but no one else in this division is just giving the opposition the ball and just putting nine behind the ball.
Sometimes you have spells where nothing seems to go in and you say "One day soon a team is gonna get a real spanking, when it all falls into place." Well it works both ways and one day soon if TP's tactic goes wrong we, are gonna get a right spanking from someone.
Just my opinion.

They are, Cardiff last week had around 31% of the ball, no doubt the other relegation contenders are about the same. We're (us relegation contenders) just not good enough, that's why we are where we are.

This is a concept that some people appear to have difficulty in understanding.

I would say that our squad has to be in the bottom two, quality wise. From the game last week others were saying we should have mullered them but in most positions their players are better than ours, our edge is TP and the fight in the squad, that's my view.

Blimey Plane. Hard but true. What to do tho'?

What we are doing of course. TP knows his stuff. We have moved onto simple survival mode quicker than the others at the bottom and we will be better schooled in defending for our lives. Then if we can nick a goal or two we will be fine.

DM, I would put a fairly large bet on against us getting spanked from here on in.

My one hope is we are safe early enough where we can have a couple of games with nothing riding on them so we can try out some new approaches.

You're living in fantasy land As soon as the fixtures came out I knew it would a last day survival at the Cottage.

Hi Ade, are you stalking me?

Anyway, what to do...keep doing what we're doing. I think we're gonna be ok. I'm gonna check tonight on MOTD and make a note of the amount of ball the other relegation candidates have!

Sounds like a hard, unrewarding task. Good luck!

Loving the optimism here, but the chance would be a fine thing !!

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Well, a point today and wins against Cardiff, Villa and Wet Spam would do it. Not at all impossible.

But, of course, it was always written in the stars it would come down to the Fulham game. It's what the Gods have planned for the Palace because they love us and want us to have excitement in our lives.

Another poster, on a thread about the rearranged Everton game said it would be a great week as we could win all our games in that week to ensure our survival, very droll

Why ? The statistics show that this simply isn't the case. But hey, why let facts get in the way of an opinion...

Table doesn't lie though does it? looking at the bottom three we currently are not in it. Its all very well talking about Sunderlands games in hand (one of which is away to Man City)but we have one of those over Norwich who are playing just as bad as us and have the worst run in. None of us has a crystal ball. Right now he is keeping us out the bottom three. surely with our resources, experience of this division and quality of player compared to others in the division this is all any of us can hope for?
