We were doing ok but not looking like scoring of late really, I think maybe Ledley should drop back into midfield alongside Jedi/KG (the former may need a rest) and Bannan needs to play as he is head and shoulders our only true creative player other than the ousted Garvan. Can't understand why our best player for a run of 6-8 games has not featured since.

I'd like to see bannan play behind Murray especially with Chamakh out for 2/3 weeks but I just don't see Pulis playing him. At Sunderland he will sit deep and invite pressure with not creativity, only Murray stranded up front, hoping to get a break away goal.

Probably something to do with his experience as a manager. I like Bannan, but its not like we were scoring loads when he was playing. I suspect he thinks, we'd conceed more if we swapped out defensively capable players for offensive ones.

If we are talking about a little bit of a change lets put a new mid-field together and bring in Bannnan and get Williams back from Ipswich. I reckon this might put us in with a chance!.

Yes.something does need to change. It now looks as though we will have to pick up most of our survival points away from home and what is the common denominator in our three away victories? It's Bannan and Gayle, they scored three of the four goals between them. We need more of a goal threat and they can provide it.

Bannan played in our cup games, at Wigan he was terrible. Was expecting a battling performance to push for a first team start and it certainly was not that. Having said that he is good with the deadball situations. I would like to see Murray and Gayle up front together. Not been tried before and without Chamack seems the best attacking options we have

In Murray we have a proven goal scorer and in Gayle there is the potential for a goal poacher. Between Bollasie, Thomas, Puncheon and Ince we have a threat down the wings. We have as solid a defence as we can muster with Jedi, Ledly, KG or Ward in front of the back four. From what I've seen, the wingers often get isolated, the striker(s) have to drop too deep to try to link play or we have to lump it forward to an isolated striker (Jerome/Chamakh) up against 2 or 3 players. What we're missing is that bit of support and energy through the middle to link the defence, wingers and strikers together. To allow the forwards to occupy opposition back four. For me, it's Williams or Bannan who are obvious choices for this role but it has been Jerome and Chamakh who have more often ended up trying to do play the role of midfield, and striker and it's been too much for them to take on. My main worry at the moment is that TP is becoming too regimented in his tactics wrt sitting back for the first half. We are a team in defence but seem to rely on individuals in attack. We need to find the missing link and I think we have it. I just hope TP can find that tweak to the formula we need.
