His passing is terrible, can't take a free kick & gives away silly fouls but his tackling, winning the ball back & strength in midfield is what we need. I think we're a much better team with him than without. It should be Jedi & Ledley in midfield. KG isn't good enough i'm afraid.

Agreed with this

I agree too - he's not the weak link, he's just not as good as a lot of people think he is. But then again that's always true about fans and people who play for their team.

What a very condescending remark to make. Most of us know a considerable amount about the game, how it is played and what certain players are capable of. I have watched football since 1958 with my first Palace game being the following year. I was involved in the game from 1978 to 1987. There are thousands of others who have been going as long or longer then I.

Just because some of us actually see the good in players, Jedinak in particular, you take a supercillious attitude and suggest we are blinded by our love of the team.

Whilst your remark may, in some instances, be relevant in the main I think you will find, away from the arena, most people make sensible and balanced judgements.

If you cannot see the benefit in what Jedinak brings to us then it is perhaps you who are blinded; blinded by negativity.

We are Crystal Palace not Manchester City. We cannot go out and spend fifty million on a world class player. Jedinak cost us nothing, the man has been a rock the past two seasons and he is the likely captian of his country going in to the World Cup. He has been picked every game he has been available for by Freedman, Holloway and now TP. But, of course, you and others know better.

Yes, maybe one day as the club evolves and finances improve we will find a better player for the position. However, right now he is far and away our best option.

Stop believing we should have a wonder side with a player in Jedi's role able to win every header, come away with the ball from every tackle, make every pass with most of them setting up a goal and scoring thirty goals as season themselves.

Also WATCVH the games. See how Jedi falls back to protect the defence when a winger has the ball out wide and count the number of times he is the one who heads the cross out. Count the number of times he puts in a tackle stopping an opposition attack, actually look at the number of passes he makes and count those that go astray. Watch his positioning, watch how he organises those around him and stop bleeting on that he is not good enough!

Not seen this posted in this topic yet. Not that I necessarily agree with it.

KG's a tough one. Whenever he doesn't play well, I instinctively want him dropped. I can appreciate the argument that he does important but unglamorous things well. But he - like Jedinak, or any player for that matter - has shortcomings. Perhaps part of the problem is that the team can't afford to compensate for both of their shortcomings at the same time.

A balnced view succinctly put.

Bit of overkill on a comment that agreed we are a better team with him in. The thing is, an awful lot of fans think he is the messiah and whilst he started the season playing out of his skin, his performances are gradually dipping. Now don't get me wrong, I wouldn't drop him as he's a great leader and a real fighter but it's frustrating as hell to watch him rake a 60 yard pass into the run of Bolasie one minute and scuff a 10 yard pass to the opposition the next.

We've also had better players in that position that didn't cost the earth. Derry, Aki and Hughes spring to mind. Good player, yes. Great player, no. Best player we have in that position at present, without a doubt and his mentality is vital in our current position but, should we stay up and look to progress then a better player will be needed, like, for instance, Wanyama at Southampton.

He is always a rock and has had outstanding games. His strength in the air is important to us, even though his accuracy is often lacking.

He isn't a play maker and neither is KG and that is where the rub comes for me. They disrupt play but they don't have much ability to start new plays. And yes, he isn't at his best right now.

I still think have SOK or Bannan playing with him, letting him win the ball and then lay it off to a creative player, would work better. But that means the rest of the defence being bullet proof and not needing so much cover.

In the end, in football you have to be robust. You can watch Jedi dominating the opposition players, they don't like getting near him. That is what he is for.
