I recall going to see our team play away to Fulham in an evening game many, many years ago.I think it was Bobby Robson's first game in charge. We lost 1-0 and I think Malcolm MacDonald scored the goal. There were both Palace and Fulham supporters in the 'Hammersmith End' and coins were being hurled at each other.Someone could have lost an eye - quite despicable behaviour.

Did any make a direct hit? That would of been impressive.

Can't say i was impressed when i was hit straight in my right eye back in 1981, stopped me joining the armed services and took two operations to save my sight, had problems ever since and to make things worse i am now having trouble with my left eye, if it gets any worse i will have leave my job and probably be registered partially blind, still think it would be impressive?

Besides all of the negativity and possible life bans for the perpetrators, SB makes a valid point about that overshadowing the great pre-match display. Big respect to all those that took the time to prepare it all, just a shame that the coining of Rooney ensured that it was largely overlooked. From BBC:

"Speaking about a pre-match display organised by fans, Browett said on the Crystal Palace 'Five Year Plan' podcast: "I was really angry because you've got guys who worked through the night on Friday night, they have worked really hard on that display.

"They've spent hundreds, thousands of hours getting that display right and you turn on Match of the Day and they don't even mention it, all you see is someone throwing a coin at Wayne Rooney. One idiot has screwed it up for everybody else and it makes me so angry. I hope somebody turns him in because he's not welcome at Selhurst Park."

No doubt some knuckleheads will call this 'grassing'.

Well this cave man says it is grassing,
I wouldn't grass he/ she up for it even though it was a real t***tish thing to do.

I know football fans are notorious for being sheep and coin throwing went on a lot years ago but fortunately that time has passed. The majority of our support get behind the team the right way and I'll focus on that.

Hopefully whoever it is will be banned, and we can get back to supporting the team.
Not spending 90mins worrying about opposition players who typically score against us after getting abuse

Hoof Hearted 25 Feb 14 4.45pm

I've been hit on the head by a coin. Happened at Arsenal in the 70's.

It fcuking hurt and blood was streaming down my head.

Anyone that thinks coin throwing is acceptable should think again. I was lucky it didn't hit me in the eye like the fella above who has suffered a great deal by the sounds of it.

I hope whoever was responsible is found quickly and dealt with.

Here was me thinking we had class fans, but alas it seems we have idiots on board our ship, and we need to get them off pretty sharpish, before the FA deducts some valuable points away, and sink us. And then we wouldn't be best pleased if the coin throwing idiots get us sent down into the championship again, we're in the top league now,so let's stay in it, lets act like we belong in it !The banners before the game were great, and looked fantastic, well done to all, who through a lot of hard work, pulled it off.
