I don't think the original Post was too negative, do not confuse negativity with realism. Imo we need an average of one point a game, I think we may lose games we expect to win and vise-versa, that's the Palace way.
It could well come down to goal difference. Yes we are hard to beat these days and yes our GF is better than some of the teams around us, but we don't draw enough games imo (only 2 so far) We could have easily got a draw at Carrow road and with a bit of luck Stamford bridge, how good would those 2 extra points look in the table right now.
I personally don't worry too much about our possession rate, we only got about 35% in both Hull games and that did'nt stop us winning.
Whatever the end result I have really enjoyed this season. We have done far better than I ever expected and the whole ethos and atmosphere around the club in the last 2/3 years is better than i've ever known it.

End of March time will be when the bottle either goes or stays and I think we have a manager that knows exactly how to play these types of games. Style of play will go out the window, just a case of getting points on the board and Pulis is very good at that. Some rival sides will feel the pressure and with the crowd getting tetchy will play in our hands. That's why I think we will get something away at Newcastle, Sunderland, Cardiff and West Ham. Swansea I really do fancy we can advantage of them back after their away game at Napoli. Sunderland has a congested fixture list. I reckon we will stay up just on 36 points.

Also Man U players did not look comfortable first 10/15 minutes yesterday because of the atmosphere made by our fans. This will apply to the big guns that are coming here later on.....anything is possible.

Last time we went down, we took 8 points from the last 10 games, beating Liverpool, but failing to beat the bad teams. If we can beat the bad teams this time, we'll survive. No problem losing to Man U - but we must get wins from the teams around us. Whatever happens, it's been a great season and I think we're under the best management we have had for a very long time. I think that makes me positive... COYP!

Yet again a relegation rival picks up bonus points against one of the big boys. Our inability to get some points in these games could be crucial.
Can someone with a lot of time on their hands come up with a table without the bonus points? Would be interesting to see.

Simple. We drew v everton and lost the rest! so 1 point for us

That's cleared it up then..........

I totally agree with the first post, and i'm not sure 40 points will be enough this season. I agree Fulham & Cardiff have it all to do, but it's so tight and sadly can't see us going on a three match winning run to boost us up the table - if we survive it will be by the skin of our teeth.
