It's OK having New fans but as a Selhurst 6 member and sitting in the A/W Stand which I have done for the past 20yrs,at the Man Utd game and being sat next to Obviously Man Utd fans, whilst I was singing supporting Palace, they were not cheering or singing Palace songs, and smiling when Utd scored, just upset me a little,as to how they managed to get tickets in the Home support!!! saw touts blatently outside the Ticket Office asking people if they needed tickets before K.O,How do they get the tickets and Why do they get away with it?.

Also while i'm on a roll a middle aged fan in front of me asked me to mind my language as he had his 2yr old with him,I think a little young to be at this match?,said I paid my money for my ticket and that some language is expected at a football match,if he didn't like it don't bring his little one,for I was brought to Palace when I was young and Bad language is a part of being at a football match.

Have to agree. Bringing a two year old to a football match and complaining about the bad language is like going to a boxing match and complaining about the blood. I mean what did you expect? Bad language has been a part of football for over a century, the fans, the players and the managers all use bad language. it's not going to stop now.

What does it matter if some people will find the time and/or money to watch Palace play in the Premiership but less so in the lesser leagues. For many people supporting Palace is a part of their lives but for others supporting Palace is their life. Neither are right and neither are wrong.

I spend a large sum of money on Test match tickets as a supporter of the England cricket team but I spend much more to watch them play Australia than I do to watch them play Bangladesh and judging by the ticket sales I'm not alone but no-one criticizes cricket fans for being selective in what matches they spend their money on

I have to agree with you on this Ian, nobody complains when we find 35,000 fans to go to wembley. everyone knows that the extra 20,000 fans on last years championship gates mainly came back to support the club. They wasn't new fans

All of a sudden ?found the cash/time/love/or premier league again!

funnilly enough, i've had a season ticket in the B block of the holmesdale on and off for at least 10 years now if not more and I must say, this season has been one of the least enjoyable. My love for the match day is on the wane and I just don't seem to enjoy it anymore. Seriously considering not renewing my ticket.

Interesting Paperhat, what is it about this year that is contributing to this?

It seems some people have a bit of a problem with fans that are not 100% committed, love the club but have other things going on in their lives and don't want to see us play in the Championship unless its a promotion season.
I'll follow Palace whatever division they are in but I'd be naïve to think all other fans feel the same. Having a family that I love very much and am committed to stops me going to many away games these days but I don't consider myself any less of a fan because I don't go away much. Any more than anyone should judge others that may not have been for a few years (or have only just started going)

Agree

I don't get to as many games as I would like now and haven't for around a decade however previously I did pretty much 15 years of near complete home and away seasons...now I maybe get to 10 home games and that's it

Am I 'new' ? Am I returning ? Am I part time ? Am I someone who has done his time and then some supporting the club in the past ?

Actually lots do complain about the day trippers,as at away games this year.
I suppose it's all good for Palace but I preferred last year myself.each to there own though.
That's how I see it I don't expect half of the HOL to agree with me i know I don't agree with half the spill posted on here.
They are obviously all Palace fans but a lot would rather only watch premier league football and will make the effort for that.
Fair weathers to me.
I know lots of lads who go to handful of games every year home and away but would do that and have done it whatever league we are in.
In other words not fair weathers .

Me and my brother and sometimes Dad would visit another London ground when Palace were out of town. There are many who do the same. They could represent 10-15% of our gate. Who's anti this gate money. Who doesn't want them to turn up?
