Petrescu was close to becoming manager last November. I know this was generally accepted but interesting to hear it from the horses' mouth. Where would we have been now if that had happened? [Link]

I think he wanted too much money to come to Palace and that is never a good basis to start managing a club. Perhaps he can apply for the Man Ure job at the end of this season? Money is no object there!!!!

Don't know after Ollie Charlie Chaplin might of been appropriate. Seriously though, Petrescu would of been a long throw of the dice based on his lack of Prem experience. I reckon 2 at least of Cardiff, WBA and Fulham will bite the bullet.

I honestly believe that if we had got anyone we were linked with we would probably be bottom still and way behind everyone else.

Pulis was the best choice and thank god we have got him.

To be fair, Pulis took a long time to be persuaded over something. Everyone has an assessment of their value and (possible) repercussions to their future reputation and employment prospects should things not go to plan. I don't particularly have an issue with people holding out for more, but I have infinitely more respect for owners who have the confidence to tell these same people to 'do one' if their demands exceed budget. Both parties have a right to assess value for money.

Also, I wanted him ahead of Pulis. I apologise to Tony for being an idiot.

Agreed TP was the best in rhe end but Keith Millen did a great job getting the players confidence AND fitness back to where they should have been, maybe we wouldn't have been too far south of where we are now if TP had said no.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).
