To me he is a bit of an unsung hero for us this season.
Let go by Ipswich - he came to us and was okay last season but not amazing by any stretch of the imagination.

I'm sure I remember that the general opinion last season was that he marshalled the defence and was just what we needed at the time as no-one had been "in charge" of the defence since Paddy's injury

I thought he had his best game ever for palace last night, looked a real rock at the back. I have been impressed with how he has coped with the Premier league, for me he is better than Gabbidon and more of a Pulis player.

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

Agreed, Delaney is fast becoming my player of the season. He was a rock last night.

The only time he worries me is when he gets illusions/delusions of grandeur and starts dribbling the ball and tries to make telling passes. Just hoof it Damien, that's all we need and expect from you my man.
He was fantastic last night, disagree with you though about when he dribbles the ball out of defence. He made a couple of good runs out of defence last night instead of just giving the ball back to Hull like everyone else was doing. No one else read his move and you could see the frustration from him when he had just busted a gut to get forward.
We must learn to keep the ball better as better teams would have battered us with all the possession they had last night.Great three points though.

I think that we have become a proper team since TP arrived. I can pretty much name the starting 11 well in advance each week now. DD is a key element to that that team. Julian, DD, DG, Jedi, Wardie, MC and CJ give a very solid and combative spine to the team.

I think that DD has definitely crept into contention for player of the season.

He must be delighted he signed for us and didn't go to the MLS. It would have been an absolute disservice to his ability as he is showing now and fair play to him for working hard enough to get up to speed.
