I'd rather be owned by a fan than an annonymous billionarire like many other clubs, many of whom seem to be owners of 'questionable moral fortitude'.

Quite right. It's much better to be owned by upright pillars of society like Ron Noades, Mark Goldberg or Simon Jordan

May I add Ray Bloye to that list as well..

From Bloye to Noades to Goldberg to Jordan - Its like the 100m relay team from football hell

And yet, some think matching Goldberg and Jordan's "ambition" is the answer now?

I think all of us would do something slightly different to how CPFC2010 do it, but quite frankly we are unbelievably fortunate to be in the position are in now. Grass is greener and all that, not to mention the definition of insanity.

Nothing wrong with matching the vision and ambition - its all in the execution and whose hands that is in to deliver...

Bloye had none and was bent as nine pence.

Uncle Rons ambition went as far as the end of his own nose.

Goldie had the vision but not two ha'pennies to rub together and Jordan had the ambition but absolutely clueless in how to deliver it.

Absolutely, but ambition is not synonymous with throwing money at a situation, and a lack of transfer activity so far is not synonymous with a lack of ambition.

Oh absolutely..I guess though what we dont know is what the overiding factor in the 2010 ambition is.

As was pointed out a few days ago.

If the strategy is to maintain the wage structure at all costs (even relegation) then thats fine. If the strategy is to retain PL status, again thats fine.

Thats what the board is for - to manage the club and make those calls.

If its to retain PL status and retain the wage structure at all costs with the 'presumption' (as a Plan B that we could do a West Brom and come back again stronger from the Championship) then thats risky bordering on the virtually impossible.

We need the quality and depth so have to spend and improve the side and we arent going to improve the side unless we pay a bit more money - whether wages or fees.

I think you miss the point. Yeah, you've come up with a veritable rogues gallery. But at least they seemed human, tangible, characters you could love/hate - not a consortium of steel magnates from the Indian sub-continent who had never even visited Selhurst Park and asked their manager to conduct meetings in Mumbai.

That's a first.

Someone posts a smiley face and gets a lesson on how they're ''missing the point'

I'd hazzard that Ron Noades wasn't that bad, his mistake was selling to Mark Goldberg and by selling I mean stiching Mark up a cropper (and arguably seperating the club from the ground didn't help Jordan). Bit harsh to include him in that list.

Jordan, I quite liked him, but his mistake was spending beyond the clubs capacity to recoup, which is what a lot of people seem to suggest we should do.

But I'd suggest that Parish and Co have more in common with Arthur Wait and Noades. And I'd rather be a championship club than a souless plastic hulk like Chelsea or Man City, or an travesty like Portsmouth.

No I get the point - I dont see why its any different whether its a second hand car dealer or butcher from South East London raping you or a Bombay chicken farmer you have never met... the point is you still get f*cked in the arse

I would argue that overriding factor in their ambition is almost irrelevant.

Most us accept that between the four of them, they are A) Palace fans and B) successful businessmen. Whilst this is not disputable, the application of those two traits within the world of football is what most seem to question, of those that do question anyway.

If you take those two traits, then there are two different forms of ambition in my eyes; financial gain (most likely from selling the club for more than they paid, recuperating any loses and making money out of it all) or nothing more than glory and a legacy. Either way, given the importance they give the club's stability, doesn't it sort of leave the unanswered question into ambition a bit unimportant?

If in ten or twenty years, we look back on CPFC2010's tenure and analyse it, I hope we see that they helped grow the club, and that doesn't mean throwing money at just the playing squad. Selhurst may be our home and fortress, but its lack of modernisation is symbolic of how we have been setup behind the scene for years; out of date and in need of a touch up. It's the behind the scenes stuff, the infrastructure, that I think 2010 are really keen to improve, because I think on a longer time scale, it's that which is going to be the most beneficial in terms of their legacy and the health of the club.

Staying up though, just accelerates that growth, which is why I don't doubt their ambition in this window to do as much as they can, without compromising the bigger picture.

Self destruct? What a ridiculous argument this is.
The club has been in administration twice - we could be in the bottom div or even out of existence. CPFC 2010 didn't want to buy the club but came in as last minute saviours - don't forget that! They have openly said that they will sell to someone who has the money to take the club forward but only if they are the right fit ( we don't want to follow Pompey's path ! )
They have had some luck, particularly in having 2 managers resign at the right time, but they have also done everything right and achieved undreamed of success in such a short time. The club is on a stable financial footing which they will not endanger with reckless spending now in a crazy month.
Mistakes have been made but we are where we are now and fans have to realise that they won't go splashing out money now or paying crazy wages with no conditions should we get relegated. Let's see what happens by Jan 31st and then judge but if we don't get anyone in then we will have to go with what we've got and since TP arrived that squad has done pretty well - in fact good enough to stay up. If TP can do that he will deserve every bit of his bonus and then we can get excited about him taking us on to the next level with acquisitions in the summer. If we go down then we can be sure that we will not suffer from stupid wages as QPR did and hopefully we can bounce straight back.
If some billionaire comes along who wants to change our colours to pink and to call us the Croydon Cavaliers but who promises to buy Messi and Ronaldo then that would be a good discussion for self destruction!!
The current owners are businessmen and fans but for once they are not letting their emotions run away with them as Goldberg did for example - they are taking hard nosed logical decisions thank God. Leave them to do it and put your trust in them and the manager that they choose.

We are not equiped for the premier league is the bottom line.

We don't have the resources financially or staff wise to cope with the demands of the premier league.

Expecting miracles is totally unrealistic.

SP said we would give it our best shot and this is it.

... we should be more concerned with the ground.

This argument has been aired 378 times in the past week. It's now so old it's almost painful. It's not even worth those of us who disagree with it disagreeing. If none of us have anything new to say, perhaps we should call it a day (me included)? We all know where we stand (and for that matter, we all support Palace.)

I reckon cladding and a lick of paint is the best it will get for a good few years. Apparently we can,t afford new stands and at the same time buy over priced footballers.
