Is it just me or have some of the media singled Palace out and type cast us as 'the premiership newboys who don't know what they're doing' ?
When Holloway left they slaughtered us for taking our time with the next managerial appointment, despite there being an international break and Keith Millen coping admirably, yet when west brom sacked Clark and took the same time finding their new man no fuss was made. Then the 'chairman in Barbados' non story and now this.
Doesn't really bother me as it will be all the sweeter when plucky little, strugglers Palace prove them all wrong.

They just expose themselves as knowing nothing other than the top flight, or top few teams even.

Stuart Pearce on Goals on Sunday. "they've got a great atmosphere down there, and Tony Pulis has brought that". Haven't watched a game at Selhurst for a few years have we Stuart?

This appears to be a purely statistical study done in a sterile environment. It only counts the number of players used by the club over a period of time and does not take into account the circumstances of their use or their status in the club. Under "waste of time and paper," file this one under waste of time and paper.

Parish sets the record straight:

"This study is an anomaly. It is not saying we have the biggest squad, it is saying we have used the most number of players over the last few years.

"In 2010, we were in administration and missed out on Championship relegation and now we are in the Premier League, so given where we have come from, it is not surprising. We overachieved and we had to get a lot of new players in to refresh the squad.

"Some of the players will be from the academy, and we like to give players that opportunity - whereas other teams, such as Tottenham and Chelsea, have lots of young players who don't get anywhere near the first team.

"We have taken criticism for signing too many players, but in the Premier League you get injuries, players leave or a couple don't fit. And I suspect we have less players out on loan than other top Premier League clubs."

Tim Sherwood has told owners not to buy any foriegn talent as he
is intent on giving academy players a chance. If he lasts long enough

That will be the test, will the boardroom allow him the time, especially since this is a club with European aspirations. If Sherwood succeeds, that will auger well for clubs like Palace. Good luck to him.

I'd imagine the owners told him he's not buying anyone, rather than the other way around.

No it isnt the other way round. He is more into promoting youth - the 19yr old came in against us - even though he is foriegn! Not everbody agrees with signing untold foriegners for loadsamoney [Link] down bottom he alludes to his time as developement coach
