It's clear that Pulis's method works but I have seen the club play far more entertaining football in the past. If we were to survive this season, could it come at a cost? We seem to be content with scrappy 1-0 wins against the weaker sides and employing a damage limitation mentality against the stronger sides. Our win against Stoke was technically perfect but football is also about entertainment- 14 goals in 22 games is disappointing for many fans. With the smallest budget and probably weakest squad in the division I don't think you can have it both ways. You can entertain or you can try to stay up. We are not Man City and don't have the luxury of being able to do both.

Damage limitation ?we should have at least drawn with City and Chelsea.....I am not a so called purist...to watch Arsenal and all their passing week after week would bore me to tears !!!!Yes good sharp passing mixed in with the long pass and even sometimes The Hoof !
Bleed Claret & Blue THEN Red & Blue!!!!! |

Really not all that bothered from an 'entertainment' perspective about our brand of football. Have actually enjoyed the last few games and thought we played some decent stuff at times (Tottenham 1st half being a prime example) - it certainly wasn't hoofball. I do, on the other hand, worry that in the medium term, Pulis is going to hinder the development of a number of players in our squad (anybody under 6' tall). In particular, Johnny Williams, Gayle, Campana and Bannan may struggle to get a game. Going forwards I'd like to see Ward back at RB and us playing one of our midfield options (SOK/Bannan etc) in midfield ASAP too.

Pulis has done a fantastic job and the style of football has improved under him and it is definitely not hoofball, ok there is some but there's bound to be in a lower end team whoever you are but the majority of football is decent. The way I see it is 18 teams have played 22 and us and Sunderland who had a dreadful start and we're well off the pace when our new managers took over and effectively had about 12 games each to play catch up. Can you imagine the position we would be in if TP had started the season because in my honest opinion we would of been at least 5 or 6 points better off which would put us mid table, obviously this is only guess work but going by our first ten under Holloway and second 12 under Pulis that's how I reach that conclusion. So that would show how brilliant a manager Pulis is and I for one am very happy with him.

The only passing under Holloway was the passing along the defence, which invariably led to mistakes. With Pulis, we play our football in the oppositions half, which is how it should be
