I think you can assume that Jools' Argentina chances just received a big boost with Sunderland this afternoon signing one of Argentina's present goalkeepers, Ustari. This pretty much guarantees their management will be tracking the Premiership (and will make Sunderland away a rather interesting encounter for them.) Also ensures Speroni and his competition can be judged evenly.

Hmm, the plot thickens! Well spotted. All the more reason, as if it was needed, for us to hope that he and the Mackems have a bad time of it too.

Looks a much better keeper with the settled partnership of Delaney and Gabbidon in front of him.Plenty of other positions need strenghtening first especially as keepers dont get many injuries.

The critcism earlier in the season wasn't fair or objective.

The team was playing f***ing rubbish and couldn't even get out their half at times yet some were on here banging on about the goalkeeper constantly.

The Swansea game he kept the score respectable and wasn't to blame for either goal.

Sorry to interrupt your Speroni Appreciation Society meeting again, but in the Swansea game, the first went through him; the second was after he failed to deal properly with an initial shot (which he should either have held or pushed round the post for a corner).

The last time the Opta stats for goalies were shown (about the time Millen was in charge), he was second worst in the division for shots saved. The defence has improved considerably since then so he has less shots to deal with.

CPJ did you just start being a fan this season? And did you see that brilliant save on Saturday? Oh and the one's at West Brom away as well as so many others these season? And how about the last however many seasons?!

He is a club legend and will always be. His performances are of the highest quality so I'm confused where you can even start with all this scrutiny. Are you anti-Argentinian?

What about the save against Cardiff after only 7 minutes, reflex tip over the bar...

Impressed with Joeberto's flag?

But is there a risk?

Mischievous elements of the Argentine media might misinterpret it as the start of a campaign by Brits for the Falklands Islands to be handed over.

Jules could find himself at the centre of a diplomatic incident.

Paul Merson, just now on Sky Sports News, complimenting Speroni in a big way:

'I think he's a very good goalie. Isn't there talk that he's not going to get a new contract???? For me, I've always liked him. I think he's a top keeper. Never lets Palace down.'

'Better stop dreaming of the quiet life 'cos it's the one we'll never know'

Joeberto:
That was a fantastic idea/photoshop!
Thanks.

I heard Sabella will be at Emirates watching Palace vs. Arsenal.

CPJ: Are you perfect? Were you at Wembley back on May 29?
I was.
More precisely, at the 85' when the game was still 0-0. And Jules made that grand save? I profoundly believe that gave us the first step of dreaming about PL.

Watch him in the Brazil World Cup next to Messi and Kun... It's possible.

Yes, I was there (as I have been for the last 30 years) and he made one very good save to knock the ball away from Deeney, and he was very good for us for two or three years when he deservedly won POTY. However, I still don't think he is that good any more. Doesn't dominate the area, stays on his line for crosses, position at free kicks is poor.

Zaha's magic - yes I did see the save last Saturday - it wasn't 'brilliant' - it was a good save that any keeper should be making. Yes he makes saves, as other keepers do, but he also makes mistakes. Open your eyes and realise that just because someone plays for Palace, they're not automatically the best in the world.

They same rule goes for you.
Because you've been 30 years with us, it doesn't mean your opinion automatically is the best in the world.
Open your eyes, Jules is a legend and deserves a chance with the Argies.
