The best thing so far this season is Holloway leaving and Pulis coming in. I have been very surprised by Gabbidon, I didn't like him last season and thought he would be shocking in the prem but heehaw done very very well. Not the donkey you thought he was then?

Centre back pairing. From lumbering mid-Champ goal sieves to one of the tightest CB partnerships in the EPL is nothing short of miraculous. The fans - although I think it is the rest of the footballing world who are surprised. Coming away from Etihad + Bridge where we know the home side were lucky to get the wins. Especially when you see how other [often more illustrious and certainly better resourced] teams have fared. The knowledge that there will probably be a few more happy surprises before the season ends. Roll on the Emirates...

The one thing I want more than anything is to stay up, not by luck or goal difference but by merit, get one or two scalps and to be able to see Pulis stand there, hand cupped around his ear and look at Lineker saying "Sorry?, instant relegation? how do you explain that Jug Ears?" They were all looking a little sheepish on saturday night when the two teams they condemned on day one have both started to pull them selves together. How they'll explain big fat sam and the wet sham boys having to be on tv after match of the day next season I don't kno....

I had visions of our being stuck with Ollie for ever and ever so I was really surprised when he threw the towel in quite quickly and quietely after the Fulham game and he went without too many tears and much grinding of teeth. I think Ollie is a very complex man who tends to flatter to deceive . If the truth be known he was really out of his depth at Blackpool and our lads in the Board Room did not realise it,however, it did not take too long for Ollie's chickens to come home to roost at Selhurst and Palace is noe able to look forward to something better.
