Not that I agree with it but i personally think Ward will stay as a DM with Marriappa at RB and then hunt will be given the chance to be first choice rb when fit again

just to prove i I was right . this is s copy and paste from a states website this weekend and look what it says and note how meny mins he was on the pitch compaid to the other players
Accurate Crosses

Player Club Pos Accurate Cross Apps Mins
Robert Snodgrass Norwich MF 4 1 90
Charlie Adam Stoke MF 3 1 90
Oussama Assaidi Stoke MF 3 1 72
Santiago Cazorla Arsenal MF 3 1 90
Ahmed Elmohamady Hull MF 3 1 90
The two Stoke names on this list are worth focusing on because although the side lost at Crystal Palace, Adam and Assaidi both showed great precision to deliver the ball to teammates from difficult areas. Stoke are not a side that always play slick, passing football and crossing the ball for their forwards and attacking runners from midfield is one of their main tactics.

yes i to think he has done well going from a cb to a rb . but i disagree that he done his job well on the day he was good going forward

im not saying that he could have stopped every cross but from my recolection he did not block one of them from getting in the box , just feel that if he is to carry on as a rb then one of his man jobs is to prevent crosses comming in , and for my likeing he seemed like he staned off allowing the cross to come in ....you can not do this as a rb time and time agin as eventually one will land in ht right place and the cb will not be able to head it out

Yes, but if the player putting over the centre has not done the job with accuracy which Assaidi obviously didn't, then Mariappa has done his job in preventing a very good player from doing his job.

So an American website says that Assaidi, playing as a winger, put in 3 accurate crosses in 72 minutes. And this is to prove that Mariappa had a bad game? I'm not sure I get your point here. That sounds a pretty average return to me, particularly considering that he had Crouch to aim for in the middle!

Fair one, stats to back up. their strikers must have had a poor game, or gabbs and delaney were solid enough to counter their threat.

Gabbs and Delaney were solid. Gabss was even beating Crouch to headers!

Says it all really

As the person who also started the anti-Wilbraham thread (a minute apart), you are such a sad human being.

The team wins, restricts the opposition to two shots on target, and you choose to batter two guys who are working bloody hard to get into the team. Mariappa had to deal with Assaidi (a liverpool player), and then a fresh Arnautovic (ex-Inter) (their two biggest threats) and still Crouch had no aerial service. And he's being played out of position. Wilbraham created chances, held up the ball exceptionally well and worked so hard to try and restrict their time on the ball.

I'm not saying people are ever devoid of criticism, but compare the value of their side to ours. I cannot imagine what you'd be like after a defeat. Sort out your priorities, your pure negativity is horrendous.

I was surprised Arnautovic didn't target Mariappa more agressively, after his two assists from the left wing against Liverpool. He seemed to be playing more centrally where he was ineffective against Ward and Jedinak. Think Sparky missed a trick there.

Remind me how many goals did the new Messi that is Assaidi get, come to think of it how many assists did he get, he may have over crosses, but not a single one was telling.

Why is it so hard for some people to give credit to our players when it's due, and actually I thought Delaney was carried a bit today by Gabbidon who was immense.

I do think that moving Ward in midfield may have affected any chances of appearing in the England 21 team.

He did a very good job for Reading at CB, plus Danny Gabbidon not exactly a giant.
