My most disturbing memory!

The season had not started and I had been bought a season ticket by my mum. It was a big deal for me and the Ticket cost 26 pounds ( sorry using an American keyboard).Bless her she passed 11 weeks ago.

It was the start of Malcom Allisons first full season managing Palace. We had been relegated but we were supposed to be a good bet to return to the old Division one. I went down to Selhurst Park and was let in and even got to go down onto the pitch and watch some players exercise and have their pictures taken etc.
I was really excited to be that close to what was then my footballing idols. I had my season ticket with me,which was foolish but I was a kid and then there he was..Big Mal . The man who was to take Palace to great heights.

I walked up to Allison and asked him to sign my season ticket....he smiled and did so. He did not say much apart from "okay there it is....." I wanted to speak a little more but he looked away so I moved away and as I did I noticed a huge scar on the right side of his lower back ( he was bare chested for some reason)Like kids do as in out of the mouth of babes I asked concerned "oh what happened to you".....The response I got has stayed with me for over 40 years. Big Mal stared at me and curled his lip....I felt hugely embarrassed and unsure exactly what I had done....I naturally welled up....and that f***ing c***!! flicked his wrist at me and said "go away "in that uncouth manner adults address children in . If ever I had a son or even saw a kid impressionable being treated like that by someone paid to be what sports people are to the fans....I think I would break their f--cking jaw.
I have hated that s.o.b. from that day on.....and he messed up time and time again....why he is considered a hero is beyond me...Mr Relegation and win nothing.

My most disturbing memory!

Interesting story.
It may have been a scratch mark from one of Fiona Richmond's fingernails.

Probably the scar from when he had a lung removed.

Is this a five minute argument, or the full half hour? [Link]

Me and me mates followed Palace all over the country when Palace were in the 3rd div with Big Mal in charge. The three day week was in operation and games were being played on Sundays. On the way north we would drive thru' London and up passing Park Lane and the Bunny Club. We often wondered whether we should pop in and ask Big Mal if he wanted a lift to the match! Happy days

My most disturbing memory was myself and my mate running in front of Billy Gilbert's jag to get him to stop, we managed it and he beckoned us to the window as he wound it down, all excited we ran round only to be told to 'f*** off' and he sped off into the car park!!!

I say disturbing, but at least my all time hero spoke to me, not many people can say that!!
