I thought I'd take this opportunity as an Everton fan to welcome you back to the Premier League and wish you all the best for the coming season.

I've added a banner linking to your forum at the foot of my website, and will no doubt nip back and have a chat, or share a questionnaire once the season begins.

kind regards

Love Everton

Cheers mate. I remember parking at Goodison & drinking in an Everton pub (The Winslow I think) before we played Liverpool in the League Cup semi-final 2nd leg in 2001. All the Blues in the pub were cheering for us and even though we lost 5-0 on the night and 6-2 on aggregate, it was nice to feel some scouse lurve for a change!

How will your boys do with Moyes gone and Martinez in charge do you think?

EDIT: See you've answered my question already!

I think if he can get the squad in's and out's done early, he should get off to a good start, as we're a very good side, and the players are extremely professional.

Our pre-season is exciting too, as we take on the likes of Juventus, Chelsea, Real Madrid and so on, so what a great opportunity for him.

League wise, every new manager needs a good start, so fingers crossed. He seems a likeable guy.

I like Martinez and think he'll do well for you, but, like you said, he'll need some time and good signings to get off on the right foot. Kenwright is a good chairman though, doesn't hire and fire on a whim, so RM will I'm sure be treated with patience should things not go right from the get go.

Were you at the ZDS Cup Final in 1991 by any chance?

Thanks for the welcome loveeverton, like Martinez plays very good football and seems a decent bloke,Seth i was at the ZDS final, that was the game when Nlnja broke Keowns nose when Keown tried to mix it with big Eric, great day and we won the cup.

Thought it was Geoff Thomas who broke Keowns nose

I remember going to Everton in 1979 when we were being hailed as the new "team of the eighties" under Venables. In spite of an early goal from Mike Flanagan, we went on to lose 3-1. The worst part of it was the coach getting bricked by some charming Everton fans as we were starting the long journey home close to the ground. I watched the brick crash into the window of the seat just behind where I was sitting with a mate - it was incredibly fortunate that the seat was empty, otherwise whoever was in the seat would have been sprayed with shards of glass. We then had to drive to a bus depot in what felt like some god-forsaken part of Liverpool to wait for a replacement coach to take us home - in my memory it seemed like an age. Since then, I have never been fond of Everton or their fans, although the chap who started this thread seems like a decent bloke. Anyone else remember being at that game, or on that coach?

Yes I was at that match. Always wondering if I would get home alive from scouse land. Back in the day with terraces. If remember right the OB made walk all the way back to lime st. as they did'nt want the buses to get bricked.

Sing up ya bums
