It's a shame we blew it in the replay because with more than double the palace fans the atmosphere was so much better than the first game, what with it being a night game under floodlights as well just added to the occasion.
The first game still has to be one of the greatest cup finals of all time and not seeing it through against a man u team that was there for the taking in the replay is my saddest moment as a palace fan.
Plus I drove to the replay and I seem to remember the gits I went with kept trying to tie scarves and balloons to the aerial of my new(ish) car!!

I lived "up north" at the time of the final and got tickets to the replay....right smack in the middle of the United fans. Traveled down on a United coach also. It was a dreadful game/experience! Worst part (except for the goal) was when Geoff Thomas was clearly fouled IN the box during the first half and the free kick was given outside....he even picked up the divot where it happened and replaced it for the ref to see!!
