The Sash Now residing in Epsom - How Posh 10 Aug 12 9.52pm | |

Remember very little of this game other than a) it was beltingly hot and b) I was beltingly pissed after spending a pleasant few hours sipping a fine Sherry in a local public houses beer garden nearthe ground

Wow. Thanks very much for that. Rudi Hedman at centre back. I remember having my heart in my mouth everytime the ball went near him.

Cheers for posting that Sash, was there, but never saw any of that footage. It was roasting and i think i may have been in the same pub with beer garden as you. Had a nice chat with some Swindon fans, but the mix of roasting sun and beer in the afternoon left me a bit worse for wear as well. Can remember standing behind these big f**k off red fencing, misty eyed and watching the game just get away from us. We just didn't get going at all. I think there was a scuffle at full time in the tunnel between both sets of players when one of their players racially abused Wrighty. Coppell quickly pulled our lot into the dressing room and told them to put a lid on it and to take revenge in the 2nd leg by stuffing them. Not sure who i had more man love for at that time: Coppell, Madden or Wrighty. What a time to be a Palace fan.

There was a lot of Palace in there Bubbs - my mate drove so also had to put up with us pissed up all the way home and sunburnt to f***. Sober for the return which was one of those real rocking Selhurst nights...the noise was phenomenal

I remember going up on the coach, and as we got near, a copper boarded the coach and said the police chopper overhead had said that the away end was almost full, and we may not be able to get in. And we had tickets! And yes, it was a very hot day, but not as hot as the atmosphere we created at Selhurst for the second leg!

Went to school with Steve White's (Swindon Striker) son. Looked like he had a good game to be fair to him. Grr.

I remember a park match going going on next to the ground and being watched by a few hundred early Palace fans! They must have been absolutely bricking it.
A five year old child could do this! Somebody fetch me a five year old child. |
