Loved them from the woman at top of Holmesdale, she always gave me tons of manky onions at my request so my bun was always soggy.

I bought one at Whitehart lane once and I was ill for 3 days.

I miss them..I haven't had mind-blowing arse-popping dysentery for years.

Now I don't have to tell you good folks what's been happening in our beloved little town. Sheriff murdered, crops burned, stores looted, people stampeded, and cattle raped. The time has come to act, and act fast. I'm leaving.

Anybody else remember that slightly retarded looking bloke who sold them from a trolley in the concourse of The New Stand in the late-70's / early-80's? "Ot-dog-am-burger"! was his trademark cry.

As already mentioned, they were kept warm in an opaque swill of brownish-grey slop. The onions that supposedly enhanced the overall culinary experience stewed at the bottom and were fished out with tongs. The burgers came out of a tin and you could witness them being tipped into the foul stew if you were early enough.

All served in a stale bun that had to be smothered with so much cheap ketchup & mustard that it masked the taste of the burger and rendered it just about palatable. I dread to think what was in them; I'm reminded of a newspaper article in the 80's that reported a manufacturer of frozen burgers who was prosecuted because the only actual meat in their product was the water from a cow's brain.

And that's just the burgers. God only knows what was in the hot dogs. But I still ate the horrible things. Sometimes I actually looked forward to them. No way would I let my kids eat one today but we were made of sterner stuff in those days. I seriously doubt whether they'd be legal nowadays.

There's fire in the chimney!
