Also remember this like it was yesterday. Nicholas and Hilaire were outstanding as was the whole of the AW .Whats amazing though, looking back ,was the attendance was 4,819 SEVEN days after we had played West Ham in the FA Cup in front of 27,590. Where did everyone go?
Also ,two weeks after this match I remember us sneaking a 1-1 draw at Barnsley with Peter Nicholas scoring a penalty with about two minutes to go [ they then missed a penalty in injury time]. In the away end at Oakwell that day were 65 people. I know because I counted them. My mates at school who were all Charlton and Millwall all wanted to know how many we took up.
