With Neto that'll be 10 signings this summer. I know they've had a few outgoing too. I read they have 50 players on their payroll for the first team now.

I took great satisfaction in seeing them miserably fail the past few years. Oops, I'm wrong, they'll get that extra money from the Europa Champions League .

I'm hoping they have another terrible season. Boeley and Clearlake have been absolute disasters.

It certainly brings me joy too but I won't be fully satisfied until they're down in League 1.

They've also had to recall CG back from Madrid, because the player they were after from Athletic, didn't want to go to Chelsea. Gets better & better.

Remember when most our fans would've given a limb for us to sign him? He's in a pretty sh!tty position now - seemingly undesirable in a squad of 400 and I don't think the demand aligns to the likely price tag for him. Can only see him being used as part exchange for their next fancy.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

You could well be right there Nick, Joao Felix, funnily enough, from Atletico Madrid.

I think there is something going on here with CG . Apparently everyone wanted him to stay apart from the bloke in charge of avoiding FFP rules . I dont really get it but how can you spend billions on foreign players but its OK because you have pushed out an England international ?

I would still have him back (though I never in the limb swapping club) I think he would fit well with the way Glasner sets us up

I view CG very much as an English Premier league player, in so much as his style of play is suited to pressure and fast play.

How much that translates into different foreign leagues remains to be seen. Tentatively I tend to think it won't be terrible but that it won't be as effective as in England.

I view him as a very good player and deserved England international (with a manager who knows how to use him) however I think he's more effective within the English style.

Which is somewhat ironic given how many foreign players make up the Premiership.

He ran around like a lost puppy at the Euros though. Got found out at that level.

Not in my opinion. I regard CG not doing well in England colours, the same way I regard Foden not pulling up trees in an England shirt.....it's a Southgate style and tactics consequence.

Southgate led a charmed life with championship draws getting to late stages without meeting major teams. Even so his style of safety first football is hard for the traditionally aggressive English style to succeed at.

Personally I think the reason Glasner will do well in England is precisely because his style of play is a version of that aggressive pressing style the English game understands....he does it just a little bit more intelligently. I think if CG came here he'd fit in very well.

Well, we play Chelsea at their place soon - let's hope we can give them what for!

Yep, let's make their prawn sandwiches taste just a little bit sour that day.

Chelsea have made 35 signings under Boehly in 2 seasons.

Our 35th-ago permanent signing was Max Meyer, and that includes first team strangers such as Jaroslaw Jach and Jacob Montes. Ward and Schlupp are the only players still here from that time.
