Remind me how many times that has happened in (say) the last three seasons? Wilf hasn't played under Glasner, he played under the human equivalent of the place where horses go to drown. Want to add we probably should looking at younger options but I can only comment on the threads in front me. Edited by Ouzo Dan (09 Aug 2024 3.33pm)

would be madness to resign Wilf. We've moved past him. If he can't do it for Galatasaray he won't cut it in the Prem. Let's preserve his hero status rather than watching a past-it player ruin their own legacy.

I didn't mean "how many times did Wilf come off the bench...", rather I was questioning the perennial myth of the Palace player who "comes off the bench" to rescue an impossible situation. It very rarely happens (surely).
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

I reckon this is a Parish/Freedman desire and they are selling it to Glasner as just a one year loan and as useful backup to both Mateta - if they get a decent offer for hom - and a emergency stand in if Eze gats swept up on the last day of the season and it is too late to replace him: the latter may suggest some concerns about Franca's long-term fitness as well

It's about the money and Wilf's attitude. I'd say £50K pw would be the absolute max I'd pay him. He'd have to realise he's no longer the main man and accept that for many games he'd be a sub. Can't see it happening.
I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything. |
