For me GK will be interesting 50/50 between Johnstone and Henderson.

Wharton will definitely start. Doucoure has to play if he is fully fit next to him. But it is also hard to leave out Lerma who has been very good. Kamada won't get chances at DM as Palace have a lot of options. Plus he can also play further forward. I can see the front 3 as Eze, Mateta and Kamada.

And you have players that can come off the bench and make a impact (Sarr, Edouard, Ayew and Schlupp)

Any news on Mitchell is his contract expiring in 2025? He will be a option for a lot of clubs I think he will have a good season this year.

The main issue here is that Glasner will also go for cup glory and that will mean more opportunities for the fringe players and academy. One of the main attributes of a cup side is a strong defence and that is what we have.Start saving your pennies for the Wembley visits.

I've carefully eliminated all the players which clickbate has leaving us, and come up with the following lineup:

Matthews
Ward
Riederwald (back out of necessity)

So that's our starting 3, there will be no players for the other positions left. It'll be difficult, but I think we can get to 40 points with them.

he has 3 years left. One terribly resource article linking him with Man U purely based on him being a LB and claiming he had 1 year left seems to have created the confusion

If he really is serious about the cups, the last thing he wants to do is play fringe and acadamy players, that’s what usually gets us booted out early. We need to go as strong as possible

Saturday's team selection for Nantes should give a good indication to Glasner's thinking for the opening Brentford game.
You would think he'd want to get as close as possible to the Brentford line-up on Saturday.
Obviously JPM won't feature and it remains to be seen whether he'll be ready for Brentford.
There's also the injury doubt about Doucoure.
For Nantes I think it will be,
Henderson
Munoz
Richards
Anderson
Riad
Mitchell
Hughes
Wharton
Kamada
Edouard
Eze

Mateta might be missing for the first couple of games if he hasn't had a break all summer due to the Olympics. He'll be match fit, but may be given a couple of weeks off by the manager. Can't be expected to play two seasons with no break.

Yes but let’s be honest he didn’t start playing properly until December last year

If he had any sense, he took time off after last season ended and before the Olympic squad met up

You can. Let him have some training days off and play the games.

He had 4 weeks in Rio with his partner but trained regularly with professional coaches so as to be fit for the Olympics.

Bamboozled by all those picking Hendo over Johnstone. SJ is the superior keeper by far for me. Also disappointed people are so quick to discard Ayew, who's been immense for us, for a rather unknown quantity in Kamada. Anyway, here's mine:

Johnstone

Andersen - Richards - Guehi/Lerma

Munoz - Wharton - Doucoure - Mitchell

Ayew - Eze

Mateta (Eduoard until Mateta is back).

Interested to see how Franca goes this season too.
