The opening ceremony was simply a fiasco. Disjointed, boring, pointless and the laser show apart clueless. That ridiculous horse whose gallop was not quite up to the Muffin the Mule standard, was perhaps the highlight of what garbage can be. The fact that me and my missus watched it all expected it to improve shows how misguided you can be. Let's hope they do a better job executing the games. Edited by Eaglehamster (26 Jul 2024 10.31pm)

I am in disgust at the opening ceremony. I switched it off after seeing them recreate the last supper with drag queens. They dared not so the same to the prophet Mohammed.

Well, I enjoyed it. Much better in my opinion than watching flag bearers walking around a stadium. Paris is one of my favourite places to visit and I enjoyed seeing so much of places I’ve visited, especially the views down the siene. The rain must have made it even more difficult to broadcast the show. The light show also came over well. Celine Dion (who I don’t really like) closed it brilliantly. Yes, it was a long four hours but I thought it was better than other opening ceremonies I’ve seen. Well done France for doing something different :-)

37 percent of France voted for social conservatives, by far higher than any other party and if you add in the centre higher still.....yet the organisers of the Olympics want to ignore any of that and just present France as comprising of woke, degenerate frogs. All else seemed to be drag artists, Feminist statues, black men in lipstick & pink dresses, climate change guilt, gender equality lectures and all that. Mocking 'The Last Supper' and then with a Palee horse that resembles a prediction from the book of Revelations. Plus the Golden Calf Idol as the idolatry that drove Moses nuts. And oh the irony. Anti-war songs & dances. Propounding World Peace......presumably on behalf of some of the worst Imperialist Warmongers in history. With WEF banker gerontophile Macron in pride of place.
