In Ireland, every county has a distinctive accent from the others. Often delineated by rivers. You can get coffee in one village, drive across a bridge, and hear a different tone in a coffee shop on the other side.

Because the history of counties was all Clans, chieftains and surnames....the geneticists are also able to spot distinct counties in the DNA sequencing.

Gaelic Footy.

In normal footy, when you lose its expressed in goals. In Gaelic, to lose is like getting beaten up. They don't bother with shin-pads cos most of the action happens higher up the body.

They can touch the ball with any part of the body except the head. Hence much less concussions & longterm brain damage. Its less often that two lads clash heads in the air.

You cannot clutch the ball to the chest, nor run holding the ball for more than a couple of steps. It is obligatory to bounce or kick the ball every few steps.

The are many parallels with the village-to-village type football seen in England around 500 years ago. Organised mayhem.

They will play in the Ulster Championship with Armagh, whilst Galway play in the Connacht championship. The GAA is regionalised - with a regional champion from the four provinces - Leinster, Munster, Connacht, Ulster - they then meet in knockouts for the All Ireland. There is usually rivalry between closer sides that may disappear when one gets closer to the final. I'd say Tyrone are supporting their fellow Ulster team. They probably have a bit of a siege mentality as a lot of Southern pundits do not like the perceived Ulster style of play.
I'm going to have to get some flags. Wish I'd done my drive with the power washer. Our road is mad - bunting out, the whole shebang.

Anybody with Spanish DNA must support Galway, thats where the Armada shipwrecked. Any Welsh Eagles can support Armagh as their countryman St Patrick is buried there. Scottish eagles who speak Gallic will understand Armagh Gaelic. Easier than Galway Gaelic.

The name 'Armagh' refers to high ground or land with altitude. Therefore any Nepalese Sherpa's watching are welcome to embrace that team.

Serbian Eagles ( or those from Kosovo ) are welcome to support Galway as the two respective flags look vaguely similar and are both traditionally run up a flagpole.
